Types of genealogical research

Genealogy (from the Greek genealogia – pedigree) is an auxiliary historical discipline that studies the origin, history and kinship of clans and families. In addition, this is a branch of practical knowledge, the main task of which is the compilation of family trees.

To build a pedigree you need to have experience, knowledge of history, traditions of people of different faiths, structure and content of archival funds.

But if you just got carried away with genealogy or achieved some results in your research, you can determine for yourself the direction of how deep your searches will be.

We explore endlessly. Large-scale research, for which you must use all the resources and sources of information without exception. If the research work has captured you completely and completely, then continue to dig not only in historical, regional and city archives, but also in all departmental archives (registry office, MO, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Housing Office…), museums, BTI, etc. Find an expert and take his advice, carefully analyze the information, and break down the work in stages, structure the data into a single report with the construction and design of the family tree. If you try hard, you can find the ancestors to the 10-12th knee and, as a result, bring the pedigree to the beginning of the XVIII century (that is, to the time of Peter the Great).

We’re investigating no more information. The work is being built in several archives in order to trace the history of the family, taking into account migrations. The main sources of obtaining genealogical information and partially secondary are used.

Spot research. The work is carried out in one of the regional archives or registry office.

No matter what amount of data you investigate, each time a genealogical search will wake you to draw ever deeper into the ages. To reveal to you the names and destinies of people whose part lives in you.

Good luck in finding.
